I grew up in the small town of Maysville, NC, located in Jones County but I have lived and worked in Onslow County all of my adult life. I have worked in the automobile business for 48 years and I am the owner of National Automotive. I earned my MBA from Campbell University. I have been very active in my community, serving in various leadership roles. I am a past recipient of the Jacksonville Onslow Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award and I received the Onslow Civic Affairs Fabric of the Community Award in 2022. I served in the NC Senate for 16 years representing Onslow and Jones Counties and served as the Majority Leader in the NC Senate for 10 years.

I joined the Century 21 Champion Team in March of 2021 and earned the Million Dollar Producer award during my first year. In 2022 I received the Century 21 Champion Excellence in Production Award, the Century 21 Champion Quality Service Award, and the Century 21 Rookie Rockstar Award. In 2023 I earned the Masters Ruby Award. 

I am married to Lisa Brown and together we have 3 children, Ryan, Morgan, and Kimber, and 6 beautiful grandchildren.
