We were relocating from the SFbay area to southern Washington. I contacted several agents. Of those I spoke to, grayson Karsten was the one who was most interested in hearing about what we wanted and how we wanted to attack the process of buying a home. He was in regular contact after our first conversations before we took a trip up to the area to house hunt. On our first day there, Grayson had an itinerary of all the homes we had expressed an interest in and drove us around to see each one, providing candid assessments of each property. He even took us on a local tour three days later just to help us get to know the area in spite of the fact that we already had a signed purchase contract. He was great in all facets. We really can’t recommend him strongly enough.

My husband and I were surprised by a corporate relocation request, a request that would move us from New York City to Vancouver, WA. To say we were completely out of our element would be an understatement. We had absolutely no clue where to begin, who to talk to, what the Vancouver market was like, or who we could turn to... and we had less than two months to find a home and move. I searched online for quite some time and serendipitously came across Grayson Karsten's profile and reviews. We had already been qualified to find a home with HPA, and Grayson was very familiar with the program. Upon speaking with him, for over an hour on our first call, we knew he was our guy. In a time so stressful and scary, the phone call (in itself) put us at ease. Grayson was in-tune with everything Vancouver, WA. He understood our aesthetic style. He really took the time to get to know us. He really cared. (An often shocking trait in the realty industry, I've found.) We worked together over phone and email (from separate coasts) for about a month to identify potential homes and Grayson was able to narrow the search down and dial in on the homes he felt most suited for us: our lifestyle, taste, etc. So, we flew into Vancouver for a week, expecting a lengthy search and cumbersome process, but on the very first day of meeting Grayson (though we felt we'd known him for years) we found the home we loved and wanted. The rest was easy: Sign here, send there, call that number, etc. He made the buying process feel like a breeze, with his knowledge of exactly what to do and when. It was incredibly efficient and calm. Of course, it likely helped that we were moving into a new-build, but I imagine Grayson is this way in all instances. He seems like he'd come to you with solutions...not problems. Words don't do this amazing experience much justice, but I can say that Grayson felt like a friend--not a realtor. A friend that had our backs, took care of us, and calmed us when this could have been a very stressful time in our lives. So, if you're looking for a traditional realtor, I probably wouldn't go with Grayson Karsten. But, if you're looking for a realtor with his eye-on-the-ball and your best interest at heart, go with Grayson.
