We chose Petraglia Real Estate because they have expertise in antique houses, which are tricky to market. They were able to give us a list of things to fix up, and also things that weren't important. Jeanne Murphy was the agent who sold the house. She was fabulous!! We expected that the ultimate buyers would come from the small (and infrequently looking) pool of people that were looking for an old house in our area. Jeanne was instrumental in selling our house to a family that didn't fit that mold. A family with kids, dogs, that was looking for a fun place to live in with lots of nature and room to roam. The buyers that gave us the offer weren't specifically looking for an old house, so we weren't real hopeful that they would be interested. But Jeanne knew that they had an active family and wanted something with lots of room to grow and lots of nature. She showed the the wonderful yard and river that abuts it, and all of the conservation land that surrounds the property. She helped the family to understand that, while they might be able to make changes to the house to fit their life style, they couldn't grow a forest and plant a river, and have 1000 acres of protected space. And furthermore, these properties will be harder and harder to find as new houses are built. Jeanne is really enthusiastic, and great to work with. She talked me down from the crazies that hit before every showing. She also has a sincere love of antique houses. She also seems to be able to really connect with buyers and pay attention to the little remarks and comments that give insight to what is important to them. I would recommend her highly to both sellers and buyers

In search of our first home, my wife and I set our eyes on a First Period saltbox in the woods surrounded on three sides by conservation land. This house had an old soul, with wide beam wood floors and gunstock corner posts, just what we were looking for. Jeanne was not our agent, but the seller's agent. However, we felt an instant connection as her knowledge and love of older and historic homes was evident in everything she did. At the closing she brought us a potted orchid to celebrate the event (knowing we love flowers/plants) and she also sent us an official certificate recognizing our home as registered under the National Historic Registry. We continue to stay in touch with Jeanne, eagerly sharing with her pictures of our home through the seasons. When we need a recommendation for a contractor who also preserves the beauty of older homes, we know who to call. Jeanne is incredible personable and sincere. We owned a old home. I liked that their focus is old, historic homes By the end of one week, there were two showings, an open house, and 4 offers on our house. For me, it was difficult to be at the house. I was out of the country when we received the offers. Jeanne was really good about updates and sending the offers via email. After the purchase agreement till the closing, I jumped between Indiana and Massachusetts. This made it challenging for me. Jeanne understood this and she stepped up.
