If you don’t want to read this entire testimonial, I’ll just say that you’re lucky to have come across Susan Dickman. Go ahead and contact her; you ‘re not going to find better. At the first house we looked at, Susan discovered the key hadn’t been left in the lockbox. She figured out where it was hidden, got us in and immediately pointed out 4 or five signs that there was serious issues with water damage. In the basement, she could see the panelling had just been put up, and had too much give when she pushed it. I was thrilled. In twenty minutes, she established she knew what she was doing and I felt total confidence in her abilities. And that trust never wavered. You’ll see she’s described as a “dynamo” or “force of nature” and this is true. Yet somehow she’s not annoying. I’m fairly negative, and enjoy complaining. Every time I pointed out something I hated, she started generating solutions and alternatives. Lots of them. Imagine if Martin Scorsese was a realtor. She’s a creative problem-solver who loves what she does. And believe me, you’ll be grateful for these qualities after you’ve looked at 15 or 20 properties. There are two other qualities that set her apart. First, she’s responsive. We’d text her about a property after midnight, and she’d get us in the next day. I don’t think we ever waited more than 24 hours to get a response to our emails. In fact, if it took twelve hours, we’d wonder if she was ok. You will learn that other realtors do not operate this way, and you’ll come to enjoy her harassment of them. Secondly, she’s a terrific negotiator. Her mantra is “It doesn’t hurt to ask.” We experienced our share of frustration during this process, but checking these places out with Susan was just fun. We looked forward to it. Even when the property is disappointing, you’ll enjoy the time you spend with her and you’ll learn a lot. We could not recommend her more highly.
